The 100 by Kass Morgan
After a huge nuclear war left Earth inhabitable for humans, the people who survived left to live on a spaceship in space until they could return to their true home.
After centuries of wondering when Earth will ever be safe for humans again, the Chancellor decides to send 100 teenage juvenile delinquents down as test subjects.
Wells; The Chancelllor's son is not someone you would expect to be s rule breaker, so what did he do to deserve this? Wells is trying to win back the girl he lost, but will she ever forgive him after what he did?
Clarke; After Clarke's parents were floated, she was also arrested for treason. Even after she's been sent to Earth, she's still haunted by the memories of what she actually did.
Glass; Glass managed to escape being sent to Earth, although she's not exactly safe on the ship either. She broke the heart of her beloved boyfriend and wants nothing more than to make things right. But he will never understand what she did to be locked in confinement or why she broke his heart, and if she can help it, she will never tell him..
Bellamy; Bellamy was not suppose to be one of the 100 sent to Earth, but he had to protect his sister Octavia. He broke a lot of rules to get there, but his little sister is innocent and does not deserve to be sent to Earth just for being born.
I originally watched the tv series on Netflix first. I loved it so much I decided to go buy Kass Morgan's trilogy as soon as I finished binge watching 2 seasons. I fell in love with these characters and got to experience them a different way in the book, which I now prefer to the show! I love how the chapters move between the four main characters and everything seems to fit in together. It's such a great series and I highly suggest it.
If you're a fan of the show you'll definitely notice some major differences. Glass, a main character in the book is not in the show. Just as Finn, a man character in the show and Clarke's main love interest, is sadly not in the books.
Clarke is by far my favourite character. She's so strong and determined to make things work. She's a natural leader. I also love the strong relationship between Bellamy and Octavia, and I'm glad that carried over from the books to the show.
The setting for this book is incredible, and I can only imagine it grows over the course of the other two books. Hearing about how all these people have lived in space is amazing, and something new to me as I don't read a lot of that type of books. And when the 100 land on earth, hearing Wells, Clarke, and Bellamy describe earth. It's been untouched by humans for centuries and they have never experienced such high simple things like a starlit sky or felt the rain. That was my favourite part of this book, the two completely opposite settings.
Also, I decided to pick the tv show cover, which I normally do not like doing, because, as far as I know, the second and third book were only released as tv show covers. When I eventually do reviews for the next books I want all the covers to match.
Book 2: Day 21
Book 3: Homecoming
Book 4: Rebellion
Book 4: Rebellion
My Rating: 4/5 Stars
