Spooky Book Tag (Written Version)

Image
Spooky Book Tag  was originally created on youtube by clever fox   I've always wanted to do book tags but felt there were for youtube channels. So since it is Halloween and I didn't want to just do another recommendations post I decided who cares I am going to do a written version of a book tag, because videos just aren't my thing! I hope this written version of a book tag goes over well because it was actually really fun and different to do and I already have another one in the works! 1. Bump in the Night What is a book that has legitimately scared you while reading? The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty I started reading this book on a night shift and I was alone in a basement. There was just enough light for me to read and none of the other doors were closed all the way but almost closed with the lights on the other sides of the door on. I was flying through the book because it was so good and I started to get cold, so I got a blanket. I saw

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

First, there were ten - a curious assortment of strangers summoned as weekend guests to a private island off the coast of Devon. Their host, an eccentric millionaire unknown to all of them, is nowhere to be found. All that the guests have in common is a wicked past they're unwilling to reveal - and a secret that will seal their fate. For each has been marked for murder. One by one they fall prey. Before the weekend is out, there will be none. And only the dead are above suspicion. ( goodreads ) 10 Guests: 1. Mr. Justice Wargrave 2. Vera Claythorne 3. Philip Lombard 4. Miss Emily Brent 5. General Macarthur 6. Dr. Armstrong 7. Anthony Marston "Tony" 8. Mr. Blore "Davis" 9. Thomas Rogers 10. Ethel Rogers Ok so I literally just finished And Then There Was None and I am so blown away. This book was so amazing, it is without a doubt the best murder mystery book I have ever read. Clues are next to none, I don't think it is meant to be easily figur

The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty

"Inspired by a true story of a child’s demonic possession in the 1940s, William Peter Blatty created an iconic novel that focuses on Regan, the eleven-year-old daughter of a movie actress residing in Washington, D.C. A small group of overwhelmed yet determined individuals must rescue Regan from her unspeakable fate, and the drama that ensues is gripping and unfailingly terrifying." ( chapters ) I had watched The Exorcist movie a handful of times growing up, and felt since I watched it so reading the book would not be as enjoyable. I use to think there are just some things that would be more fun to watch on a screen then read and an exorcist was one of them. Man was I wrong, on both accounts. It has been a few years since I last watched the movie so a lot of my details where hazy. After the death of author William Peter Blatty in early January of this year I decided this October/ Halloween season The Exorcist was going to be a top priority for me.  The Exorcist was te

Silent Hill Downpour: Anne's Story by Tom Waltz & Tristan Jones (Illustrator)

"In the 2012 hit video game Silent Hill Downpour , players were introduced to Anne Marie Cunningham, the enigmatic prison officer bent on bloody revenge against the game's main protagonist, Murphy Pendleton. Now, at last, fans can learn what horrors Anne faced during her fateful journey through Silent Hill's fog-shrouded streets... and what led her to the terrifyingly cursed town in the first place." ( goodreads ) I've been a HUGE fan of Silent Hill since I first saw the movie in theatres in 2006 and since then I had discovered the games, Homecoming being my personal favorite. In 2012 when Downpour came out I really liked the character Murphy Pendleton but always wondered what had happened to Anne Cunningham as we explored Murphy's story. This graphic novel is the answer to Anne's personal hell in Silent Hill. A graphic novel is really the only way to read Silent Hill and I enjoyed every minute of this. I hope more Silent Hill graphic novels come in t
