Sara Shepard's Books

Image
Sara Shepard has become one of the best known YA authors and with two book series gone TV show under her belt, a third series will soon be added. (PS I am still not over The Lying Game show being cancelled!)  Recently after the Pretty Little Liars finale of an amazing 7 seasons, it was announced that a spin off, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists , is in the works with names attached to this project we loved from PLL. As much as I love PLL , The Perfectionists was my favorite series by Shepard, and I am more than thrilled to see what Marlene King, Sasha Pieterse, and Janel Parrish do with this series and new characters.   Sara Shepard has been one of my favorite authors for a long time, and just like her character body count, her book count is a mile long. I have added a complete list of Sara Shepard's books, in order and including eBooks and short stories.     YA Fiction     Pretty Little Liars Series   Book 0.5: Ali's Pretty Little Lies Book

Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker

"Two sisters vanish. Only one comes back." "One night three years ago, the Tanner sisters disappeared: fifteen-year-old Cass and seventeen-year-old Emma. Three years later, Cass returns, without her sister Emma. Her story is one of kidnapping and betrayal, of a mysterious island where the two were held. But to forensic psychiatrist Dr. Abby Winter, something doesn't add up. Looking deep within this dysfunctional family Dr. Winter uncovers a life where boundaries were violated and a narcissistic parent held sway. And where one sister's return might just be the beginning of the crime." ( goodreads ) As Cass slowly gives us the story about what happened to her and her sister Emma in the three years since their disappearance leading up to the reason Cass returned alone, Cass also explores the life and war inside the Martin house and how the events of the past created their future. As we get parts from Cass of the disturbing things that took place in the

Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart

"The story of a young woman whose diabolical smarts are her ticket into a charmed life. But how many times can someone reinvent themselves? You be the judge. Imogen is a runaway heiress, an orphan, a cook, and a cheat. Jule is a fighter, a social chameleon, and an athlete. An intense friendship. A disappearance. A murder, or maybe two. A bad romance, or maybe three. Blunt objects, disguises, blood, and chocolate. The American dream, superheroes, spies, and villains. A girl who refuses to give people what they want from her. A girl who refuses to be the person she once was." The best part of E. Lockhart's book is there is never a lot of plot description. So I'm going to keep that in mind and try to express my opinion on Genuine Fraud without giving too much details about the plot. The story seemed a little confusing the way it's told, but only at first. It took about halfway through the book to figure out what was going on. You start with Jule in the

There's Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins

* I  received an advanced reader copy of this book from Penguin Random House in exchange for an honest review. *   "The horror is closer than you think   It's been almost a year since Makani Young came to live with her grandmother is landlocked Nebraska, and she's still adjusting to her new life. And still haunted by her past in Hawaii.   Then, one-by-one, the students of Osborne High begin to die in a series of gruesome murders, each with increasing and grotesque flair. As the terror grows closer and the hunt intensifies for the killer, Makani will be forced to confront her own dark secrets." (back cover of advanced copy)       SCREAM meets YA was enough of a description that made me NEED to get my hands on this book. So when I got an advanced copy from Penguin Teens I couldn't wait to dive into my first Stephanie Perkins book. As a horror lover, especially slashers, I was trilled to get a head start on this highly anticipated horror boo
