Video Review: The Merciless II w/ @messybookshelf

Image
* I  received an advanced reader copy of this book from Indigo Books & Music Inc. in exchange for an honest review. #indigoemployee * I know I have already done a review for the Merciless II by Danielle Vega, but after my friend/ coworker read her advanced copy and loved it just as much as I did we knew we had to do a video together for this book.   There was so much to talk about for The Merciless II! Once upon a time, little 8 year old Gertrude wished to go to a magical world. Her wish was granted and she was taken to Fairyland where she meets lots of creatures, including Queen Cloudia. For Gertrude to get home, she would need to take a days quest to find the key to open the door back to her world. But in her case, finding the key didn't come so easily..   This graphic novel was simply amazing, truly now a personal favourite. It takes a wonderful, magical place like Fairyland and turns sweet, innocent little Gertrude into an insane psychopath. Gertrude is having a bit of a difficult time location the key, with the help of her guide, Larry, and tends to lose her temper along the way, usually resulting in Fairyland creature casualties. And honestly, Queen Cloudia is getting sick of Gertrude's attitude. It has a wonderfully interesting story plot and had some really fun twists in there, leading to an amazingly face palm ending. I have to hope this isn't the end of Ge...
