Together Bea, Quinn, and Alana are about to discover a secret that could change their future, and also get them killed.

I remember reading somewhere that Sarah Crossan was inspired to write Breathe because humans cutting down all the trees and lack of oxygen is an actual fear she has. So when I heard of a YA book that is based on the environmental future, I couldn't get it fast enough.

This book was so wonderful, and I cannot understand how it isn't more popular. I personally believe everyone should read this book, maybe it would put the right kind of fear in people. Teens should read this in school, Breathe should be the next big media buzzed book turned movie/tv show.

The real life future setting was erie, the revolutionary gang was also extremely realistic. The characters were very likeable and they all grew in their own way through Breathe, and its sequel. Bea and Quinn have such a great friendship, even when it was stressed over Quinn's obvious attraction to newcomer Alana. On their journey out of the dome, the three teens meet so many interesting characters. They discover secret after secret until they decide what they've uncovered must be shared with everyone under the dome, even if they risk their lives to do it.

Book 2: Resist

My Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
